Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be wagered on in casinos around the world, or alternatively at your house on your computer, using a web connection. The game rules are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to get the best mixture of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with competing players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker begins when the player inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the play button. A five card hand will be "distributed" on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors will need to now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the gambler has chosen which cards he or she would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be handed out if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from game to game, so that experienced players are agile enough to choose the most beneficial ones every instance.
As soon as the first round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that might have been won. Further, several styles of the game allow the gambler a chance to increase their winnings, in which case a further hand is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
